In the morning of September 13, at the administrative center of Quang Trach district (Quang Binh), Vietnam Electricity (EVN) held a launching ceremony of construction linkage emulation of 500kV transmission line circuit 3 Vung Ang – Quang Trach – Doc Soi – Pleiku 2. Attending the ceremony, there were Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung and leaders of ministries, central agencies and 9 provinces which have line going through.
Projects of 500 kV circuit 3 include Quang Trach – Vung Ang Thermal Power Plant and 500 kV distribution yard of Quang Trach Center; 500 kV Quang Trach – Doc Soi transmission line and 500 kV Doc Soi – Pleiku 2 transmission line which are invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT). Total investment of the whole project is over 11,949 billion dong. The construction work was started at the end of 2018 and expected to be completed in 2020.
The overall scale of the 3 projects includes: new construction of nearly 742 km of 500 kV double circuit lines passing 9 provinces and cities (Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien – Hue, Da Nang city, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum and Gia Lai); new construction of 8 compartments 500 kV in the distribution yard of Quang Trach Power Center; expansion a number of compartments 500 kV at 500 kV Vung Ang, Doc Soi and Pleiku 2 substations; new construction of 3 optical repeater stations and 3 management houses to operate the electricity transmission team.
These are urgent electrical construction works in the National Electricity Development Planning with the goal of transmitting electricity from Quang Trach Power Center to the National Electricity System; at the same time, to enhance the capacity of 500 kV transmission grid linking regions of the national electricity system. Since then, make an important contribution to ensuring electricity supply to the South in the coming period as well play an important role in the economic operation of the national electricity system.
Launching emulation of linkage 500kV transmission line circuit 3 projects
With the leading position in power construction industry and industrial production, the total value of construction and material, equipment supplies contracts PCC1involved in the 500kV transmission line circuit 3 projects is up to more than 1,668 billion VND.
Up to the present time, in the area of Thua Thien Hue, PCC1 has completed construction of 85% volume of foundation and 40% in Da Nang City. For pole construction, PCC1 is expected to simultaneously deploy the construction of poles on the road that PCC1 constructs. With technology and modern machinery, PCC1 is expected to complete construction of poles in January 2020 and complete the construction of wire-pulling works in March 2020.
For the supply of electrical equipment and materials, PCC1 is the first unit to supply steel poles to the project. Up to now, PCC1 has provided 25% of the volume of the contract for supplying steel poles which is expected to be completed in December 2019 and provided 60% of wires and accessories contracts which is expected to be completed in November 2019.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung praised EVN, EVNNPT, consulting units, contractors and related units for their efforts in implementing the project. The Deputy Prime Minister also appreciated the efforts of local authorities in settling procedures and implementing site clearance work for the project; At the same time, he acknowledged and thanked for the sharing and assistance of people in the project area who have moved their residence and agricultural production land to hand over the site to the project.

Due to the importance of the project and urgent requirements on the progress of project, the Prime Minister has drastically directed the relevant ministries, sectors and localities to implement the project to solve difficulties and obstacles by specific regulations on investment procedures, site clearance to start the work and put into operation on schedule, ensure quality in order to contribute to power supply to the South in the near future.
