On September 30, 2023, in Quang Nam province, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) organized the construction launch of the Monsoon – Thanh My 500kV transmission line project (section in Vietnamese territory), has realized the bilateral commitment to cooperation between the Governments of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Lao People’s Democratic Republic in the field of energy system development. The Monsoon – Thanh My 500kV transmission line project was approved for the electricity import policy and the connection plan to Monsoon wind power plant (Laos) by the Prime Minister.

The Monsoon – Thanh My 500kV transmission line project (section on Vietnamese territory) is built in Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province with a length of about 44.71km of dual circuit line, connecting from the Monsoon wind power plant cluster (Laos) to Thanh My 500kV substation. Once the Monsoon – Thanh My 500kV transmission line project is completed and put into operation, it shall be able to transmit a maximum capacity of about 2500MW, contributing to the supply of clean energy for the national electricity system.
With the purpose of putting the project into operation soon with guaranteed quality to increase electricity supply to serve the country’s economic and social development in the coming period, PC1 commits to mobilizing high-quality human resources; advanced technology equipment; secured the required funding, quality; ensure the environment and labor safety.
