The development of renewable energy is the policy of the Vietnamese Government, in which offshore wind power is considered a breakthrough solution in energy transition, ensuring national energy security.
The sustainable supply chain for ASEAN’s offshore wind power is a comprehensive and flexible system, covering the whole value chain, from development and production to installation and operation and maintenance. The supply chain needs a combination of experienced international manufacturers and local suppliers, connected by strategic partnerships, ensuring projects are delivered professionally and reliably.
Proud to be one of the pioneers in developing renewable energy in Vietnam, coming to the ASEAN’s Largest Wind Energy Exhibition and Conference, Mr. Pham Tung Lam – PC1 Group Director of International Business and CEO of PC1 Australia shared, “Vietnam is the frontrunner in offshore wind development in Southeast Asia, but it faces several challenges: Lack of clear regulations on Offshore wind power, along with previous issues of developing onshore and near-shore wind power at FIT prices; The uncertainty of PPA bankability with the new tariff. The need for marine spatial planning; Capacity of Vietnamese Companies in the supply chain…”.
The PC1 team is always ambitious and confident in preparing resources, collaborating and building the greatest capacity to accompany offshore wind power plant investors in the coming period, contributing to reaching Vietnam’s and Asia-Pacific region offshore wind development goals.
