Lien Lap Wind Power Plant, Phong Huy Wind Power Plant, Phong Nguyen Wind Power Plant (invested by Power Construction Joint Stock Company No.1 (PCC1)) are approved a $173 million green loan by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Export Finance of Australia (EFA), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). These windfarms are located in Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province with the total capacity of 144 megawatts (MW) . This is PCC1's first green loan for wind power projects.
The 3 windfarms have got approval for their Feasibility Study and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) by the Vietnamese authorities in 2020.
Besides the above approval, the windfarms also conducted the Initial Environmental and Social Examination (IESE) which aime to assess Project-related impacts regarding to environmental and social aspect against ADB Safeguard Policy Statement (ADB SPS, 2009), ADB Social Protection Strategy (2001), ADB Gender and Development Policy (1998), JICA’s Environmental and Social Guidelines and associated World Bank Group (WBG) Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Guidelines.These IESEs have been approved and disclosed in ADB’s website.
