220kV Kien Binh - Phu Quoc Transmission Line

Project overview

Time: 2019

The 220kV Kien Binh - Phu Quoc Oversea Transmission Line project is the first overhead 220kV transmission line across the sea in Vietnam. PC1 Group Corporation participated in Lot 3 of the XL-04-XLHT bidding package, which includes supplying and installing steel towers, single-pole columns, and cable pulling from VT110-167, covering a distance of 25km over the sea from Position 110 to Position 155. This is one of the national key projects aimed at enhancing power supply capability to Phu Quoc City, bringing significant changes and robust socio-economic development to the islands, contributing to maintaining national security in the southern maritime region of the country.

Commenced in March 2019, with a total length of 80.4km, including 117 foundation positions on the sea and 53 positions on the shore, along with other 110kV line projects in the Phu Quoc island district. Recognizing this as a unique project with stringent design requirements and facing challenging construction conditions and complex weather at sea, PC1 Group maximized its human and material resources to accelerate the construction progress, preparing for adverse weather conditions and aiming to meet EVN's safety, quality, and timeline standards.

During the past week, Mr. Vo Hong Quang, Deputy General Director of PC1 Group and Head of the Power Construction Division, representing the leadership of PC1 Group, visited the construction site to inspect the project's progress. At the site, the leadership encouraged and inquired about the well-being of the workers.

As a reputable construction unit regularly involved in national key power grid projects, PC1 Group boasts a highly skilled technical workforce and utilizes modern technology and equipment, such as remotely controlled underwater cable laying robots. PC1 Group solidly affirms its leading capabilities in Vietnam, particularly in the construction of power transmission projects, including EPC and PC contracts, and those with high specificity (GIS substations, island power supply projects, underwater cable projects, etc.).
