With the orientation to focus on projects of EPC, PC and projects with high technical characteristics, large-scale, rushing construction progress of domestic and foreign investors, in the past time , Power Construction Joint Stock Company No.1 (PCC1) has made breakthroughs and become one of the leading units in Vietnam on EPC general contractor of high-voltage and super-high-voltage power projects.
Realizing the development strategy for the period of 2018 – 2022, vision 2030, in 2018, PCC1 has established the EPC Project Management Office with the aim of developing EPC contracts of projects outside the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and supplying electrical equipment. On this solid foundation, PCC1 has successfully approached renewable energy development projects and achieved impressive results, winning many EPC contracts for transmission lines, substations and trade of electric materials and equipment, with the highest quantity and value of contracts in recent years.
With inherent traditional strengths, professional capacity and experience in construction of large-scale projects, in the past time, PCC1 has implemented over progress and achieved high quality of many EPC contracts for renewable energy investment projects. In particular, many projects have been completed successfully electric installation at the regional level of foreign investors.
For example: BIM Solar Power Plant – Ninh Thuan which has investment of VND 7,000 billion (investors BIM – AC Energy), EPC general contractor of three 220 kV substations and one 220 KV lines connector, construction period of 10 months, exceeding 15 days ahead of schedule.
Dau Tieng – Tay Ninh solar power plant project (investors DTE – Bgrimm), one of the largest-scale projects in Vietnam, with a total investment of VND 9,100 billion and is considered the largest solar power plant in Southeast Asia. PCC1 performed EPC general contractor of 220 kV transmission lines and substations in 9 months, exceeding 10 days ahead of schedule.
Or the substation project of Dam Nai wind power project (investor Blue Circle), total investment of 60 million USD, PCC1 performed EPC general contractor of 110 kV substation and one 110 kV transmission line, construction period of 7 months, exceeding 20 days ahead of schedule.
Besides, PCC1 has completed many EPC contracts of substations and transmission lines for other renewable energy projects which were both committed and exceeded the progress with high quality such as Gaia Solar Power Plant – BCG Bang Duong, Bach Khoa A Chau and Tri Viet 1 Solar Power Plant with capacity of 60 MWp, and Hoan Loc Viet Solar Power Plant-Ninh Thuan with capacity of 50MWp,…
With these completed works list, as of June 30, 2019, PCC1 has successfully implemented a series of EPC contracts of power transmission lines for solar power plants, wind power with a total capacity of 1.2 GW out of 4.9 GW connected to the grid, accounting for 25% of total capacity.
Not only focusing on the domestic market, Mr. Trinh Van Tuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director of PCC1 said that with the goal of long-term sustainable development, the company is focusing resources to expand power construction to markets in Southeast Asian countries to realize the vision of being in the “Top 5 Southeast Asia EPC general contractors of grid and energy investment”.
“PCC1 especially focuses on affirming its superior strength in managing EPC general contractor through a series of criteria such as tight control and coordination between stages from design, procurement of equipment and materials, execution and energization service; being reliable companion with strategic partners and international electrical equipment manufacturers such as ABB, SEIMENS, GE, CG … of high-voltage underground cables, ensuring reliability and competition. At the same time, PCC1 constantly researches, invests and applies new technologies which serve management and control of construction to improve labor productivity, product quality, professionalism and labor safety” Mr. Tuan emphasized.
In addition to the capacity to manage the general contractor, PCC1 is the only unit in Vietnam capable of designing, manufacturing and manufacturing steel structures (steel tubular poles, steel pipe tower) to satisfy domestic market and export to many countries around the world.
Specifically, in 2018, PCC1 was successfully transferred the design technology and complete manufacture of steel pipe tower products from AG AJKAWA Company (Japan) which is highly appreciated by EVN and partners and customers for its superiority, satisfying the increasing demands of national power transmission works.. The product has been successfully provided for the 220 kV BIM Solar Power Plant project and continues to be applied to EVN’s projects.
With the achieved foundations, PCC1 promises to grow at a high speed and sustainability with the mission of “Creating relentlessly to induce smart and modern electrical works connecting national and regional electricity system”.
