Song Hau - Duc Hoa 500 kV transmission line which is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) is built for the purpose of transmitting the capacity of Song Hau 1 and Song Hau 2 power plants from the Southwest region to the loading center of Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces. Currently, the first phase of the project is being accelerated by the Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB) and related units to be completed in December 2019 as directed by EVNNPT. 
Mr. Dang Phan Tuong - EVNNPT's Chairman of Board of members checked the construction progress of 2 positions of poles 05 and 06 crossing Hau river of 500 kV Song Hau - Duc Hoa transmission line.
The delegation of EVNNPT led by Mr. Dang Phan Tuong - Chairman of the Board of members has just checked the progress of construction of 2 positions of poles 05 and 06 crossing Hau river of the 500 kV Song Hau - Duc Hoa transmission line. At the field, Mr. Dang Phan Tuong said these are the 2 highest electric poles in Vietnam ever. The pole has a height of 175 m, 2 poles are spaced 1,378 m apart. The project is being urgently implemented by units to energize phase 1 of the project in December 2019. Because the construction and installation of poles as well as stringing at these two locations is very difficult and complicated and it takes a lot of time, so the completion of tightening space with two poles will greatly affect the overall progress of the project. EVNNPT has instructed SPMB (project management unit) and Power Transmission Company 4 (supervision consultant which will receive the line for operation management) to focus on coordinating and supporting Power Construction Joint Stock Company No.1 in executing on schedule and ensuring quality for these two locations, as well as the whole project. To get to the field, the delegation had to travel by ferry to cross the Hau River. This is time flood season, it often rains. Having a field trip like this, the delegation understood the difficulties and hardships of people participating in the construction.
EVNNPT’s Chairman of the Board of Members Dang Phan Tuong presented gifts to encourage workers of Power Construction Joint Stock Company No. 1 executing the positions 05-06 of 500 kV Song Hau-Duc Hoa transmission line.
According to Mr. Vo Hong Quang - Deputy General Director of PCC1: Because two poles are locate near the river bank, the construction ground is very narrow, difficult for gathering materials, greatly affecting the construction process; each location has more than 1,000m3 of concrete so it takes nearly 4 months to complete the foundation of the poles. To transport the poles (weight of about 800 tons / pole) to the location, PCC1 had to hire a large barge to transport and use 2 cranes, one 450-ton crane and one 50-ton crane to serve the construction. However, the 450-ton crane also supports only erection of the pole to the height of 100 m. For the higher part, PCC1 must erect manually. It is worth mentioning that when constructing overhead, due to influence of the wind, the pole has a large vibration which caused a lot of difficulties for the construction process. Combining means and manual measures, each position of pole, PCC1 took 2 months to complete.

The distance between the two poles 05 and 06 across the Hau River is 1,378 m, but the whole length of the stretching rope is nearly 2,900 m. Meanwhile, Hau River is an international transport route managed by the Southern Port Authority. This section of the river often has large ships going through; the construction of pulling wires, lightning rods, and optical cables will be used flying equipment Navi plycam by PCC1 to spread bait wire to serve for this pole range. “We are striving to complete the wiring of this pole range before December 15, 2019 to hand over to the investor for preparing to energize phase 1” - Mr. Quang emphasized. Mr. Truong Huu Thanh - Director of SPMB said: The 500 kV Song Hau - Duc Hoa transmission line has a length of 133 km which was designed with 2 circuits, 4-wire phase conductor of type ACSR 600/76, only sections across Hau and Tien rivers used 4-wire phase toughened conductor of type AACSR 635/117. Currently, SPMB is focusing on completing energizing phase 1 of the 500 kV Song Hau - Duc Hoa transmission line in mid-December 2019 to supply electricity for Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant to test electricity. Phase 1 has the length of 36.65 km, including 78 locations, up to now the contractors have finished casting 78/78 foundation positions, 64/78 poles and carrying out wire pulling. Phase 2 has remaining 96.35 km length, with 190 pole locations, SPMB has handed over 24 foundation positions, approved compensation plans for 164 households, and carrying out the count of compensation price for 1,958 households and is expected energizing phase 2 by the end of 2020.
